"Very good course- well run to the finest detail- congratulations! " Andrewe Heydenisk

Jake White

White transformed the Springboks from a No 6-ranked team into world champions. In 2004, his first season in charge, the Boks won the Tri-Nations and White was named IRB Coach of the Year, an award he won again in 2007. White also coached the Baby Boks to U21 World Cup glory in 2002.

Eddie Jones

Jones coached the Brumbies to their maiden Super Rugby title in 2001, and the Wallabies to the final of the 2003 World Cup. He was the Boks’ specialist coach at the 2007 World Cup, before being appointed as Saracens director of rugby. He recently signed a five-year contract with Suntory Sungoliath in Japan.

Balie Swart

Swart played 16 Tests for the Boks – at loosehead and tighthead – and was part of the team that won the 1995 World Cup. He was a scrum consultant to the national side during Jake White’s tenure as coach and is now a scrum consultant with the Sharks, who won the Currie Cup last year.

Clint Redhead

The former Springbok physiotherapist was taught by Jake White at school, before obtaining his degree at UCT. He worked with White’s SA U21 side in 2002 and was also part of SA A and SA U23 management teams. He was in practice at Stellenbosch University, but is now full time with SA Rugby.

Dr Sherylle Calder

The former SA hockey international has a doctorate on the impact of visual performance skills on sporting performance. She played an important role with three World Cup-winning teams – Australia (cricket) and England and South Africa (rugby). She has also worked with the All Blacks.

Henning Gericke

Gericke earned a doctorate in psychology and has broken new ground in the field of mental coaching. He received rave reviews for his role in the Springboks’ World Cup win. Gericke used his background as a former elite athlete to double-up as the Boks’ speed coach under Jake White (he has run 10 sub-four minute miles.)

Os du Randt

South Africa’s greatest-ever loosehead prop played for the Springboks from 1994-2007 (80 Test caps) and was part of two World Cup-winning teams. Du Randt was a powerful scrummager and a hard worker around the field. He was also a good ball carrier and a solid tackler.

Pippa Simpson

Simpson works for the largest dietetics practice in South Africa, Anne Till & Associates. She is currently completing her two-year specialisation course in sports nutrition with the International Olympic Committee. Pippa has done a number of sport nutrition reviews for Discovery, cycling club and running club websites.

Prof Derik Coetzee

Coetzee oversaw all aspects of the players’ conditioning when he was with Jake White’s Boks. He has been a senior lecturer in biokinetics and sports sciences for 21 years at Free State University and holds six degrees in related fields. He has practical experience with the SA U21 and Free State teams.
